So I'm posting in Livejournal about a feed of my 'net journal because I haven't been crossposting in Livejournal and...lordy, this is too meta for me.

I wonder if it works in Vox... XD

I've resurrected my blog over at metrocake.com -- I canned "ultramegawow," as it just wasn't me. I've been making it a habit to post almost every day after only doing a post or two per month; I've missed it and want to get back into things again.

You can also find me over on Vox. I'm there for the community (much as I am here) (oh, and fine, the interface just looked so SWEET). Anyway, I'll be doing "questions of the day" there, much like this one:

Ooooh...well, when I was in a band, we were called "Flowers Inside." :D We were goth-emo-feminist (with two guys in the band, even) and we sang all about bad dates, death, and suicide. Then I got engaged...and was really happy...and found it hard to sing about death, so I quit. Our alternate band name at the time: "Bitch Tits and the Pussy Boy Brigade." (The two guys gleefully accepted being the Pussy Boys.)

But a band name for now... I have a few: "ElmoHead," with a logo of...Elmo's head. "School Crossing." And "Walk, Don't Run," which would just *have* to be an 80s cover band."

Yeeeah, I should be Gothing up, but tomorrow's going to be one bitchload of a workday -- I'm the only one managing my department, people are at a conference -- so fuck it. I don't have the energy to drag clothes with me; people should just be happy I'm in black. Maybe I'll throw on a black skirt and boots, but...maybe not. I'm 37, I have nothing left to prove. >:) Bite me, Gothie beetches. Anyone asks, I'm GothShrek. Or GothFiona. Whatevs.

It's my third time seeing them; I *heart* Rasputina!

From my journal at UltraMegaWow: I'm a bit stirred up over the decision against Merck today. My Dad was taking Vioxx when he died -- and, less than a year later, all of the information came out that said people with heart issues should not be on that drug.

Yes, he had high blood pressure, was obese, had diabetes, had a double-bypass, the whole nine yards. I know that. I know that he could have gone at any time -- heart attack, stroke, etc. My mother decided not to do an autopsy, so I don't have an absolute cause of death. But I have to wonder. There's no way for me not to wonder... He died in his sleep, just like the husband of the woman who won in court today.

My gut, honestly? Dad would have been with us for at least a little while longer if he hadn't been taking the Vioxx. He may have been on the edge of a heart attack, but I think that's what pushed him over. It's been almost five years since he died, and I miss him every day.

I'm glad Carol Ernst won today.
